The Los Angeles Lakers ruled out LeBron James for Wednesday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers because of left knee soreness.
The Lakers’ next game isn’t until Sunday in New Orleans, giving James six days to rest his knee. James is coming off a 38-point triple-double against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Monday night.
Afterward, he said he’s “literally having the time of his life” despite the Lakers’ struggles all season, insisting he still has something left to play for.
“I’m going to play with a lot of passion, a lot of energy. I’m going to give my teammates what they deserve, what they need, and like I said, for the rest of the season, hopefully I can stay injury free,” James added.
Going into play Wednesday, the Lakers (31-41) sit ninth in the Western Conference standings, one game ahead of the No. 10 New Orleans Pelicans and three games ahead of the No. 11 San Antonio Spurs, with 10 games remaining.
