El Segundo, California (United States) (AFP) – Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James dedicated his 21st season in the NBA to his eldest son, Bronny, who is successfully recovering from a heart attack.

“King” James (38 years old) had the idea of staying away from the basketball court at the end of last season after the Lakers’ defeat by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference final, but he returned from the idea to prepare for another season, at the end of which he hopes to win the fifth title in his career.
James said that his son Bronny’s health condition, which led to his sudden collapse during practice with his college basketball team in Los Angeles in July, gave him a renewed outlook on life.
“Nothing else matters except my family,” he stressed during a press conference at the Lakers’ training center in El Segundo, California, on Monday.
He continued, “Obviously, I will dedicate this season to Bronny because of his accident. Understanding that puts everything in perspective.”
He added, “No matter what happens, the only thing that matters is your family. And to see what (Bronny) has had to go through over the past few months, it has been difficult. I can only imagine what it must have been like for him, because it has been difficult for him.” For me, and for our family.”
James confirmed that Bronny is “in very good condition” now and aims to return to the basketball courts with his university team, South Carolina, this season. “He has begun the rehabilitation process to return to the courts this season.”
He concluded by saying regarding his son, “His condition is constantly evolving. It is definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer.”
