Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, in New York, during the work of the United Nations General Assembly, and the existing cooperation between Lebanon and the organization regarding the Syrian refugee crisis was discussed.
The caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdullah Bou Habib, and the Acting Chargé d’Affairs of the Lebanese Mission to the United Nations, Jean Murad, participated in the meeting.
Mikati also received at his residence in New York, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, heading a delegation.
Infantino stated, “Through the FIFA Forward program, we have always worked with the Lebanese Football Association to improve the infrastructure as well as increase the popularity of our sport in Lebanon, and we will continue to work in this direction.”
