Lebanese Minister Emphasizes Significance of Industrial Fair for Local Development
Beirut, June 18 – The Minister of Labor in Lebanon’s interim government, Mustafa Bayram, has underscored the importance of the inaugural edition of the Industrial Fair in promoting local development. In an interview with Prensa Latina, Bayram highlighted the exhibition’s role in shedding light on the industry and its contribution to the growth of the national economy.
Bayram emphasized the need to transition from a rentier economy, which has proven to be unsuccessful over the years, to a productive world. He advocated for leveraging local production and harnessing the country’s talent and human resources. The minister expressed optimism in transforming the phrase “Made in Lebanon” into a reality through effective marketing and confidence in the quality of Lebanese products.
The Industrial Fair features 116 business owners showcasing their products and potential, with the aim of attracting foreign investment and fostering stronger connections among various economic actors. Supported by the Ministry of Industry, the event is taking place in the Exhibition Hall of the southern suburb of Beirut. Its objective is to facilitate greater interaction within the sector, involving merchants, consumers, suppliers, and investors.
The fair represents all lines of production, exhibiting medium, light, and large industries across sectors such as food, construction, infrastructure, chemicals, textiles, and alternative energy. Additionally, it offers a diverse range of products, including restaurant equipment, furniture, perfumes, wood products, software, raw materials, and technological innovations.
This Industrial Fair serves as a platform for local businesses to showcase their capabilities, which are comparable to foreign industries.
