The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government, Dr. Abdullah Bou Habib, continued his meetings in New York. He met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to explain Lebanon’s position on the expected project on renewing the mandate of “UNIFIL”.
Bou Habib had met with the permanent representatives of Ghana, Gabon and Mozambique as non-permanent members of the Security Council, in the presence of a representative of the African Union, to discuss the issue of renewing UNIFIL’s mandate as well.
Then Bu Habib met with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Relief, Martin Griffiths, to discuss the issue of Syrian displacement in light of recent developments.
