Lebanon Weather Forecast: Scattered Rain, Thunder, and Snow Expected – Meteorological Department

The Estimates Department at the Meteorological Department in the General Directorate of Civil Aviation expected that the weather tomorrow will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with fog on the highlands and a slight drop in temperatures to reach normal. Scattered and intermittent rain will fall, and it is expected to intensify at times, especially in the northern regions, with the occurrence of Lightning, thunder and active winds, and some snow falling at an altitude of 2100 metres.

The bulletin stated the following:

-General condition: volatile and sometimes rainy weather starting today, Tuesday, due to the influence of a limited effective depression centered between Libya and Egypt, which is gradually approaching and will continue until Friday evening, when the weather recedes and stabilizes.

Note: Average temperatures for January in Beirut are between 11 and 19 degrees, Tripoli is between 9 and 17 degrees, and in Zahle between 3 and 13 degrees.

-Expected weather in Lebanon:

Tuesday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with medium and high clouds, with a slight drop in temperatures, with winds active and scattered light rain falling, especially in the northern regions, and it is expected to intensify at times during the night.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with fog in the highlands and a slight drop in temperatures to reach their normal levels. Scattered and intermittent rain will fall, and it is expected to intensify at times, especially in the northern regions, with lightning, thunder, and active winds. Some snow will also fall at an altitude of 2,100 meters.

Thursday: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with no significant change in temperatures on the coast, while rising slightly inland and on the highlands. Fog forms on the mountains and scattered rain falls at times, with the possibility of lightning, thunder, and active winds, with wide relief during the day.

Friday: Cloudy to partly cloudy with the beginning of a rise in temperatures. Fog forms on the highlands and scattered rain falls sometimes, with the possibility of lightning and thunder, especially during the morning period. Light snow falls at an altitude of 2100 meters, and the rain subsides starting in the evening, with the weather gradually improving.

The temperature on the coast is from 12 to 20 degrees, above the mountains from 6 to 15 degrees, and in the interior from 4 to 16 degrees.

Surface winds: southwesterly, sometimes active starting in the afternoon, with speeds between 20 and 55 km/h.

Visibility: Moderate on the coast, worsening on the mountains due to fog as of the afternoon.
