Lebanon: Launched a missile aimed at Tel Aviv for the first time – 2024-09-27 11:43:17

Despite the hammering from Israel, Hezbollah seems to be holding out. In fact, on Wednesday morning, the Lebanese organization launched for the first time a missile aimed at Tel Aviv, which was intercepted by the anti-aircraft defense system.

“This is the first time that a Hezbollah rocket has reached the Tel Aviv area. Intercepted” by the Israeli army, a spokesman for Israel’s armed forces said.

A little earlier, the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah had announced that it had launched a ballistic missile against the general headquarters of the Mossad, Israel’s foreign security agency, near Tel Aviv.

“The Islamic Resistance launched a Qader 1 ballistic missile at 06:30 (local and Greek time) on Wednesday (…) targeting the Mossad headquarters in a suburb of Tel Aviv”Hezbollah announced.

The Shiite movement added that the Mossad “responsible for killing Hezbollah leaders” and the organization’s blasts of buzzers and radios.

Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and Netanya

Warning sirens sounded in Tel Aviv today as Israel’s air defense system intercepted a surface-to-surface missile detected entering Israeli airspace from Lebanon, the Israeli military said.

“After sirens sounded in the Tel Aviv and Netanya areas, a surface-to-surface missile originating from Lebanon was detected and intercepted by air defense,” a military spokesman said.

There were no reports of casualties or damage, and the military said there were no changes to the orders issued regarding civilian protection in central Israel.

Fire at Israel from Egypt, Iraq and Jordan

“Israel is pushing the region towards a total war”, the heads of the diplomacy of Egypt, Iraq and Jordan estimate in their joint statement released today, in which they condemn “the Israeli attack on Lebanon”.

Citing “the dangerous escalation that is underway in the region”, the ministers also underline that “in order to stop this escalation, the Israeli attack on Gaza must stop”, according to a joint statement issued by the three countries, after a meeting of the of their foreign ministers in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
