Bombings in Beirut

Three new Israeli raids hit the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah, at midday today, after a night of heavy Israeli shelling, Lebanon’s national news agency reported.

“Enemy planes launched three strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut,” according to the agency.

An AFP journalist saw plumes of smoke rising from the affected area.
