Lebanon: Israel bombed Hezbollah headquarters – Target Nasrallah (Videos) – 2024-09-28 07:02:02

The Israeli military launched new airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut at around 18:30 today, the Lebanese news agency and Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV channel reported.

According to reports in Israeli and Arab media, the targets of the attack were Hezbollah headquarters across Lebanon and the organization’s leader Hassan Nasrallah himself. According to Israeli media, the headquarters was located under residential buildings in the Dahiye suburb, a well-known Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut. According to Al-Arabiya, initial information indicates that the Hezbollah leader was not neutralized.

“Nasrallah is fine,” according to reports

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah “is fine,” a source close to the organization said, cited by AFP.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency also reported that Nasrallah is “safe”. However, a senior Iranian security official told Reuters that Tehran was investigating Nasrallah’s fate.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati accused Israel of waging a “genocidal war” and commented from New York where he is attending the UN General Assembly that today’s attacks in Beirut’s southern suburbs show Israel is “not interested” in efforts ceasefire in the area.

IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari reported that the Israeli air force recently struck Hezbollah’s central headquarters in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Haggari claimed the headquarters was under residential buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb, a known Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut.

He also said there are no changes to the guidelines for Israeli citizens at this time.

Six buildings were completely destroyed in the strikes, a source close to Hezbollah said. The explosions caused huge craters in several places, according to Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV channel.

The Lebanese news agency and Hezbollah’s television network Al Manar broadcast images of a huge crater and a huge cloud of smoke rising over the city. Residents heard multiple loud explosions. Ambulance sirens are heard throughout the Lebanese capital.

“The Israeli Air Force carried out a precision strike on Hezbollah’s headquarters in the Lebanese capital of Beirut a while ago”Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said shortly before 19:00.

He said the headquarters was built under buildings where civilians lived in the suburb of Dahiyeh, a stronghold of the Shiite group.

The attack came shortly after Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly, in which the Israeli Prime Minister laid out his government’s strategy, which is none other than the continuation of the massacre in Gaza and Lebanon, but also the threats against Iran.

According to Israeli media, the strike in Beirut occurred during Netanyahu’s press conference after his speech to the General Assembly, which was interrupted by his military secretary, Lt. Gen. Roman Goffman. According to Israeli media, Goffman appeared out of nowhere, approached Netanyahu while he was speaking, whispered something in his ear, and then the Israeli prime minister got up and left the press conference. Moreover, as revealed, the green light for the strike was given earlier from within Netanyahu’s hotel room in New York by him.
