With the continuing constitutional violations of caretaker Prime Minister Nahib Mikati, and despite the launch of a large number of campaigns against him, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Elias Bou Saab is almost alone in putting Mikati out of his situation because he “always puts his finger on the wound.”
The first time Bou Saab put Mikati out of his depth was in the House of Representatives, when Bou Saab asked him: “If Ghazi Zuaiter had been Minister of Defense, would you have dared to do what you did with Maurice Slim?” This prompted Mikati to immediately respond to Bou Saab so as not to expose him to Christian public opinion.
As for the second time, it was in a press interview with Bou Saab on Sunday, where Bou Saab revealed the falsity of caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s claim that he consulted the Chairman of the State Shura Council, Judge Fadi Elias, and that he obtained a positive opinion regarding the recent constitutional violation related to the appointment of the Chief of Staff. This prompted Mikati to issue a statement this evening denying his communication with Judge Elias, noting that it has become clear that Mikati was manipulating the Shiite duo regarding the issue of his communication with Judge Elias.
