“Lebanon Consumer Price Index Soars 8.55% in April 2023, According to Central Statistics Department”

The Central Statistics Department at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers announced, in a statement, that the consumer price index in Lebanon for the month of April 2023 recorded an increase of 8.55% compared to the month of March 2023. This figure was also recorded at the governorate level as follows:

– An increase in Beirut governorate, amounting to 10.67 %
– A rise in Mount Lebanon Governorate, amounting to 7.77 %
– An increase in the North Governorate, amounting to 10.01 %
– An increase in the Bekaa governorate, amounting to 9.09 %
– An increase in the South Governorate, amounting to 8.71 %
– An increase in the governorate of Nabatiyeh, amounting to 6.28 %

It stated that the consumer price index in Lebanon for the month of April 2023 recorded an increase of 268.78% compared to the month of April 2022.
