Lebanese Ministry of Health Condemns Missiles Attack on Ambulances

The Ministry of Health issued a statement saying: “The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health condemns the exposure of two ambulances belonging to the Islamic Message Scouts Association to missile attack while performing its humanitarian mission of treating the wounded of the current aggression in southern Lebanon.”

He added, “This cowardly attack is condemned and rejected. This barbaric act not only represents a blatant violation of international humanitarian laws, but is also a disregard for the most basic principles of humanity and morality.”

The statement continued, “The Ministry of Public Health, while denouncing and condemning this attack in the strongest terms, reminds all concerned parties and international bodies, most notably the United Nations organizations, including the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, of their duties and the necessity of assuming their responsibilities to ensure the protection of health workers.” and health facilities.”

He continued, “The repeated attacks on medical personnel and health facilities are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which stipulate the protection and respect of health workers and the provision of safety for them during armed conflicts.”

He called on the international community and all concerned parties to “take immediate and decisive steps to ensure that such acts are not repeated, to hold those responsible accountable, and to ensure full protection for medical teams who are striving to save lives in extremely difficult circumstances.”

The statement indicated, “The Ministry of Public Health will not hesitate to perform its humanitarian and patriotic duty, and will continue to raise its voice loudly to defend the rights of its citizens and protect health service providers, drawing consistency from the principles of justice and international law.”

He concluded, “It is time for humanity to stand together against everyone who tries to undermine the rules that protect the most vulnerable among us, and for international actions to live up to the declared commitments.”
