The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abdallah Bouhabib, requested official clarifications from Sweden about statements circulating on social media, by a Swedish citizen calling on the displaced Syrians in Lebanon to violate Lebanese laws.
Bou Habib’s request came during his meeting, today, Saturday, with the Deputy Director General and Head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sophie Baker, accompanied by the Swedish Ambassador to Lebanon, Ann Dismor, according to a statement issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.
The Lebanese minister asked for official clarifications “about the statements circulating in videos on social media, by the Swedish citizen Kamal al-Labwani, in which he calls on the displaced Syrians in Lebanon to violate Lebanese laws and incites them to violence, hatred and carrying arms in Lebanon.”
The statement announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates will follow up “developments in this issue that affects national national security, pending clarifications from the competent authorities.”
The Swedish citizen Kamal al-Labwani had called, in videos on social media, the displaced Syrians in Lebanon to organize themselves and violate Lebanese laws, inciting them to violence, hatred and taking up arms in Lebanon, and attacking the Lebanese army.
