“Lebanese, here’s a cost-free method to conquer depression and anxiety!”

Successive crises hit the Lebanese.. Permanent daily shocks are inevitable in a country reeling from the impact of a loose dollar that does not know stability and does not tire of rising. Here, the citizen is floundering with worries and problems. Nothing is the same and the simplest requirements require a tremendous effort to obtain. It is not surprising, then, that suicide rates rise under “deadly” and even fatal circumstances.

Speak.. Overcome taboos!
The Lebanese suffer from great pressures that have affected their mental health and plunged them into a state of depression that has led some of them to end their lives. This is confirmed by the psychologist Candy Abu Serhal, noting that the insane rise in the prices of sedatives and antidepressants led to some people stopping taking their drugs, and thus what was expected happened. It is the relapse or relapse that drives many who suffer from a psychological disorder to re-think or even commit suicide.
Abu Sarhal points out that caring for mental and mental health in Lebanon is still questionable, as it is unfortunately considered in our society a cultural taboo (taboo), but the new generations speak more fluently about what bothers them and show openness to sharing experiences and experiences, no matter how difficult they are.
She continued her interview with “Lebanon 24”, explaining that the conflicts in the country and political instability, in addition to the unprecedented economic crisis, have increased cases of anxiety, depression and phobias among the Lebanese. However, between receiving treatment or follow-up for mental health and securing a living and the “necessities” of daily life, one often shows “sustenance” over anything else. How is the situation in a country that does not consider mental health as physical health and does not see mental illness as a danger similar to any other health disease?!
Abu Sarhal goes on to say, “The crisis has exhausted and annihilated all sectors. Many psychiatrists have emigrated, and the need for psychological assistance is increasing as the situation continues to deteriorate,” noting the existence of associations such as “embrace” and “idraac” that extend a helping hand to everyone. Call it out and ask for help.

Overcoming depression is possible.. Here are these tips
Mental health is no less important than physical health. Do not underestimate your disorders.. Whoever says that depression is not a killer has lied to you! Depression and anxiety threaten life, and the evidence is what we are witnessing in terms of the rise in the suicide rate and the spread of this phenomenon among different age groups! However, there is also a treatment for mental illness, and it may be simpler and less expensive than you think.
It is true that some cases require follow-up and medication, but most can overcome depression and reduce their anxiety and tension as a result of the current situation, with a small change in their daily habits.

Abu Serhal, who refuses to go into the names of drugs and antidepressants, considering that cases differ and it is not possible to rely on a common drug without consulting specialists. She says that the most important thing that one can do to feel an improvement in his psychological condition is to add exercise to his daily routine, as it increases the level of the hormone Serotonin in the body, or what is also known as the happiness hormone.
Doing what you love and being in places you love is one way to get past bad feelings. For Abu Serhal, it is not possible to limit what an individual must adopt to feel better with one behavior, for example, whoever loves nature must take a walk in it and breathe the breeze every time he feels uncomfortable, and whoever loves to walk on the beach should do so. And she adds, “Sitting alone is also important, because we need time to spend alone with ourselves to discover what we want.”
And she continues: “Being with friends and exchanging parties to talk with them is very useful, as is listening to music, practicing yoga for those who like it.”
Fill your day with things you love to do… things that make you feel good, even for a short time. It is important to focus on the moment in which we live, according to the psychologist. Do not underestimate the simplest things that bring a smile back to your face! It could be a meeting, a book, a picnic, or even sitting in a quiet hall.
Do not forget to express what is bothering you, this is what Abu Sarhal stresses. If you are unable to reveal your burdensome secret to anyone, write it down.. Take out what is inside you, count what weighs you down on a blank sheet of paper and burn it if you wish. The important thing is that you remove the negative energy from your souls and put positive things in front of you, small things that make you happy, even if it is the smell of flowers in the spring.
