Caretaker Minister of Communications Johnny Al-Qarm confirms that “yesterday the sale contract was signed with the owner of the property owned by the CITY DEVELOPMENT company, which means that the two buildings in Al-Bashoura became MIC2, and this is considered an achievement because we saved 50 million dollars for the state.”

And he mentions that “the report of the Audit Bureau, the cost of owning the two buildings will be around one hundred and two million dollars, and explains that when the ministry took over, the ministry had paid about $50 million, and today it has paid 175 billion pounds, at a cost of about $1.8 million.”

He says, “Today I saved the state $50 million, noting that the registration fee for the two buildings that we are currently paying is more than the amount charged by the landlord.”

Al-Qarm reveals “another matter there that he was notified of yesterday from Cyprus regarding the agreement with the Cypriot company, CYTA, to establish a new submarine cable linking Lebanon with Cyprus. The company in order to start the process of laying the cable, and this matter will certainly ensure stability for the telecommunications sector.
