Lebanese Crisis: Presidential Vacancy and Socio-Political Collapse Analyzed by Analyst

“Lebanese Debate”

The alarm bell triggered by the Kahala incident, which came at an uncalculated moment, placed both Hezbollah and the opposition in front of the responsibility of dealing with the scale of the political and social crisis through the election of the President of the Republic and stopping the accelerating collapse after ten months of the presidential vacancy.

The presidential crisis has prolonged and wear and tear has reached an advanced level, while financial stability, at the current minimum level, will not last long, and regular work of institutions will not be achieved until after the election of the President of the Republic, according to what the writer and political analyst Nabil Boumonsef asserts, who warns that the presidential elections will have a “protector.” In exceptional security circumstances or a serious security event.

Analyst Bou Moncef warns, in an interview with the “Lebanese Debate”, of the general deteriorating situation in all fields and the collapse of social security, considering that Lebanon has become a country without a state, and power in it is held by a party that refuses to recognize reality.

Bou Moncef warns of disintegration in Lebanon, which may take the country, starting from September, to a very dangerous place, especially since the presidential vacuum is likely to continue, and there is no direction or decision for any political, financial or economic reform or treatment.

In this context, Bou Moncef considers that the Kahala incident revealed Lebanon’s situation and the extent of the political crisis after months of presidential vacuum and after decades of collapse. Bou Monsef indicates that the transfer of weapons takes place on a daily basis and in all regions because Hezbollah possesses legitimacy and legitimacy from successive governments that gave it the right to act as resistance in Lebanon, and he admitted that an ammunition truck belonging to him was attacked in Kahaleh.

However, he found that this incident took place in a very luminous location, and constituted an uncalculated test, and its results were surprising and unexpected. express it.

Within this context, Bou Monsef considers that “the tension was caused by the party in the Lebanese environment, and this environment expressed it in this incident, but the party’s reaction, its statements, and the way it dealt with the incident was more dangerous than the incident itself, because it refused to witness the actual popular reality.” On the ground”. Therefore, Bou Monsef says that after the Kahala incident, “any dialogue that does not present the priority of the defense strategy will not make sense, because disarmament is an illusion and no one can disarm it even if all the Lebanese gather on that.”

Accordingly, Bou Monsef believes that it was necessary to organize the transfer of arms, even to a minimum, on international roads, and to coordinate with the Lebanese army, bearing in mind that such a decision is the responsibility of the political authority.

Regarding the party’s reaction, Bou Monsef criticizes it because it “gives credibility to all extremists in Lebanon and strengthens the argument of those calling for federalism, knowing that I am not convinced of federalism and still am.”

Bou Monsef stresses that “there is no internal party that wants sedition or seeks war, and there is no external cover for war, but the danger comes from the cold war abroad, because Lebanon is an arena in which the hidden conflicts in the region are implemented, and yesterday we witnessed an Iranian and American deal that began with hostages, and ends.” after Iran began to reduce its stockpile of uranium.
