Lebanese Bank Incident: Depositor’s Threat and Resolution

“Lebanese Debate”

The depositor, Edgar Awad, entered the Al-Mawarid Bank branch in Antelias with his 13-year-old son. He was carrying 4 cans of petrol with him. He threw them on the ground and threatened to set them on fire if he did not get his deposit of $15,000.

Immediately, the management of the bank made a decision to give him the deposit, and in the meantime, they would count it and hand it over to him.

The Depositors’ Scream Association visited Awad, but the security forces did not attend until now.

Later, the Depositors’ Cry Association announced that “the depositor got his deposit and left the bank.”
