Lebanese artist Walid Tawfik spoke about his great love for Egypt and his close relationship with it and its people for many years, stressing that he cannot be absent from it for long periods.
Tawfiq explained, during his interview with the journalist Mona El-Shazly on the “With You Mona El-Shazly” program on ON channel, that he was absent from Egypt for two years during the Corona pandemic, and it was a very difficult period, saying: “When I was absent from Egypt for a long time, about two years, because of the Corona conditions, of course. Because nothing kept me away except Corona.. I was very upset and wanted to come to Egypt.”
He added: “I was on YouTube and found a meeting with Farid Al-Atrash. He was absent from Egypt a lot, and he missed Egypt in an unnatural way because his blood is Egyptian, and I heard a song saying (One and two years, and you, my heart, say where am I)… So I said, This is what I am living in. Now I have to sing it, and I already sang it.”
Walid Tawfiq concluded his speech by saying: “Oh Lord, protect Egypt, the people of Egypt, and the leaders of Egypt, and I always say it as an Arab and Lebanese person: As long as Egypt is fine, we are fine, God willing.”
