Lebanese artist Marwa Qaraouni is participating in the Cairo Days International Monodrama Festival, in its sixth session, by presenting an art therapy workshop, as part of the festival’s events and activities, which will be held from 1 to 5 next October.
Marwa Qaraouni said that the content of the workshop that I will present is art therapy through theatre, which is a special type of art therapy workshop in which theatrical performances and performance techniques are used to contribute to improving mental health and enhancing communication and social interaction.
She added: The workshop includes a variety of theatrical activities and exercises for participants, which enable them to express themselves and explore their feelings and ideas through theatrical performance and interaction.
She emphasized that art therapy workshops through theater can be useful for enhancing self-confidence, developing communication skills, and enhancing self-awareness. These workshops may be available in psychotherapy centers or cultural institutions and local theaters that offer theater education programs and workshops.
Regarding her participation in the Cairo Days International Monodrama Festival and presenting the workshop in Egypt, she said: I am proud to have the opportunity to present this type of activity for the first time in Egypt, the leading country in theatrical and artistic works, due to the important impact that these activities have on the souls of the participants and stimulate their ability to communicate.
