A Lebanese army helicopter crashed near the Hammana barracks, east of Beirut, during a training exercise, killing two soldiers and wounding a third.
According to preliminary information, two officers were killed and a first aide was wounded, according to the Sky News Arabia correspondent.
Among the victims of the accident, Captain Joseph Hanna and First Lieutenant Richard Saab were known, and the first assistant, Muhammad Sidah, was injured.
Witnesses reported that just before the plane crashed, a major imbalance was observed in the air.

Eyewitnesses in the town of Hamana told Sky News Arabia that the plane crashed into a pine forest on the outskirts of the mountainous town, and that fires broke out in the area.

Army forces put a security cordon around the crash site, while ambulance and civil defense teams put out the fire that broke out in the place, which contains dense trees.
