Leaving the position of President Director, Ira Novianti is now selling all of Unilever Indonesia’s shares

Jakarta – Former President Director of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) Ira Novianti decided to sell the shares he owned in the company. After previously on October 24 he submitted his resignation.

Quoted VIVA Business from Information Disclosure, Friday 1 December 2023, Unilever conveyed this through letter No. 10/UNVR/XI/2023 which was submitted to the Indonesian Stock Exchange authority. This information is provided in order to comply with Financial Services Authority Regulation no. 11/POJK.04/2017 concerning Ownership Reports or Any Changes in Ownership of Public Company shares.

In the letter, Ira explained that he owned 870,000 shares or the equivalent of 0.002 percent. Ira reportedly sold all his shares.

It was also explained that the sales price per share was IDR 3,650 per share. This means that in this transaction Ira earned around IDR 3.17 billion and the transaction was carried out on November 2.

Furthermore, the sale of Ira’s Unilever shares was said to be for the benefit of the family. The letter explained that Ira would use the proceeds from the sale of shares for her child’s education.

As is known, currently, Ira is known as a woman who has a very brilliant career. Before serving as President Director of Unilever Indonesia, Ira had joined the company in 1995.

He has worked his way up and held a number of senior positions not only at Unilever Indonesia, but also in the Southeast Asia region.

The beginning of his career at Unilever began when Ira joined the company through management trainee division marketing UNVR from 1995 to 2001. He continued his career as marketing director ice cream UNVR from 2001 to 2006.

Ira then became marketing director skin carea position that successfully contributed greatly to Unilever’s profits, and served from 2006 to 2010.

His career continued to shine at Unilever, and Ira rose to become vice president ice cream, media, and consumer insight from 2010 to 2014.

From 2014 to 2017, Ira served as Vice President South East Asia Unilever Food Solutions. In the period 2017 to 2020, Ira was elected and served as Vice President of Beauty & Personal Care.

Ultimately, Ira Noviarti was appointed President Director of Unilever through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 25 November 2020. Ira held this position from 2020 to 2023 before resigning.

Apart from that, Ira has also served as Chair of B20 Indonesia Women in Business Action Council and become Board and Advisory member di BritCham Indonesia, as well as Chairperson MMA Indonesia.
