SPIELBERG – MotoGP observer Carlo Pernat supports the decision Andrea Dovizioso to part with Ducati at the end of the 2020 season. According to him, the decision was made because Dovizioso and his manager, Simone Battistella, were fed up with negotiations that never came to fruition.
Dovizioso has indeed decided not to extend his cooperation with Ducati next season. The decision was confirmed directly by Battistella before the 2020 Austrian MotoGP.
On 15 August 2020, Battistella made a statement regarding the Italian racer leaving Ducati. The Ducati Sports Director, Paolo Ciabatti, agreed that statement. He said the two sides did not find common ground to continue cooperation.

Dovizioso himself admits that he has no other plans after leaving Ducati. He also opened the opportunity to miss the 2021 MotoGP race if he didn’t get a competitive team.
According to Pernat, the steps taken by Dovizioso and the manager to part with Ducati were the right thing. This is because the negotiations carried out regarding the new contract have never found an agreement.
Pernat himself realized that the Ducati wanted to make updates regarding its riders. They are aiming for the names of young riders because they can be an investment in the future.
