On September 13, 2022, Colette and her husband Hendrik became the proud parents of son Jordy. The delivery seems to be going well, but later Colette hears from the doctors that she has preeclampsia.
Colette’s blood pressure continues to rise, causing something to snap in her head. In the end, she suffers multiple cerebral hemorrhages. “And now we are here, already half a year”, Hendrik sighs.
The next day, Eddy goes to group therapy. First of all, he watches Colette’s day start. Colette becomes emotional when she tries to sit up. That’s a tough exercise for her. Eddy goes into the hallway to give Colette some rest. He is moved by what he sees. “I just can’t get over it.”
As parents, Hendrik and Colette want to ‘be normal’ for their newborn son Jordy, but that is made difficult for them by the medical concerns. Yet they remain positive. This is how Colette manages to walk behind the pram with support. A milestone for the young parents: “A month ago this was not possible and now it is, so these are very nice moments.”
