The WhatsApp media platform has launched a new feature for iPhone users as the company has introduced the ability to upload voice notes in the WhatsApp status.
With this new update, WhatsApp users on iOS can record audio status in the app.
This feature allows users to share a voice memo as a status update.
These voice notes can only be shared with a specific contact configured under the user’s privacy settings.
Shared voice notes will also be encoded as comprehensive status updates.
This ensures that only contacts that users select in their privacy settings will get access.
Just like photos and videos, voice notes shared via status will disappear after 24 hours.
Follow the steps mentioned below to record and share the voice memo in the status
Open WhatsApp on your iPhone
Go to the Status tab at the bottom of the screen
Tap the floating button with the pencil icon in the lower right corner of the screen
Tap on the microphone icon and start recording a voice memo. You are allowed to record voice notes up to 30 seconds long
After you are done recording the voice memo, you need to edit the microphone icon
You can listen to your recording, review it and finally hit the send icon to share your recording as a status update.
Recently, it has been reported that WhatsApp may soon introduce report status feature for iOS users.
This feature, which is currently in iOS beta, allows users to report status updates on iOS.
