It appears that Microsoft is working on an Insider program for Surface Duo devices. After all, one Surface Duo user discovered a reference in the settings menu. The test program does not appear to be active at the moment.

According to Gustave Monce, the man who discovered the reference, there isn’t much to see on the Surface Insider program menu right now. In a screenshot of the man there is a reference to the so-called ‘rings’. In it, test users will likely be able to indicate how experimental they want the Android experience on their Surface Duo devices. According to the man, Microsoft may also make beta functions available for users to test via the menu.

Monce says the reference to the test program is well hidden and that some action must be performed before it can be seen. According to the man, one of these actions sends the device’s serial number to a Microsoft server, which also checks the number every time the device starts up. It’s unclear if or when Microsoft will introduce the Insider Program for Surface Duo devices.
