Viernheim (City of Viernheim) – In cooperation with the economic development and the Brundtland office of the city of Viernheim as well as the network “WE COMPANY FOR VIERNHEIM” all Viernheim traders are on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 6 p.m to the lecture “Solar power for your own company” on the premises of SPAETER company at Max-Plank-Straße 21 invited.

At the CARL SPAETER Viernheim GmbH location, the first photovoltaic system (PV system) of the domestic companies of the CARL SPAETER Group was put into operation on June 8th. The almost 550 kilowatt system covers a large part of the company’s electricity needs with the aim of energy self-sufficiency. For this reason, the managing director of the Viernheim SPAETER branch, Serkan Büyüküstün, and authorized representative Dirk Wagner will present their own considerations that led to the construction of the facility to interested companies. A tour of the company premises including the high-bay warehouse is also planned.

Generating electricity from the sun

Photovoltaics is renewable energy for everyone with a roof. Can be scaled to any size from a balcony solar module to a large-scale system for a commercial business and, if the conditions are suitable, is also economically viable. When you purchase a PV system, part of the electricity price is paid in advance and the price can be set for the next 20 to 30 years. For some, it is not just economic efficiency but the feeling of partial self-sufficiency that motivates them to choose photovoltaics. Since there will be more and more large electrical consumers such as heat pumps and electric cars in the future, generating solar power makes all the more sense. The most economical approach is to use as much of the electricity generated yourself as possible. PV systems can be adapted to all company sizes and can be an important component in the company’s energy supply. The SPAETER company has taken this route.

Following the lecture, the Viernheim architect Andreas Boxheimer and solar planner Günter Alter from the Efficiency Workshop will explain how photovoltaic systems can be integrated into commercial businesses and have an economic impact. At the end of the event there is the opportunity to exchange ideas over a small snack.

Please register in advance by October 16th with the Viernheim Economic Development Agency by phone on 06204 988 232 or by email at [email protected] is required.
