Lawyer shows the design options – and what you should not do

Power of Attorney and Living Will. These keywords often erroneously conceal the idea that one is being incapacitated or giving up one’s ancestral rights irrevocably. The BürgerStiftung Region Ahrensburg informs with “Power of Attorney and Living Will“what design options are available and how to use them.

The drafting of a health care proxy and living will is part of a self-determined disposition in order to remain able to act even in old age with dwindling strength. At the event we will inform you about the design options that are available. The event includes a specialist lecture followed by an opportunity to ask questions.

The person who grants it remains the one who determines the content of the power of attorney. He decides on the person of the authorized representative and what they are allowed to do, so he remains authorized to issue instructions. The living will is to be distinguished from the power of attorney. It contains requests for medical treatment in the event that you are no longer able to act consciously yourself, e.g. B. in case of unconsciousness.

Speaker of the lecture is lawyer Jan-Friedrich Witt. He explains the basic legal terms and the design options. He is available for additional questions. The event is aimed at citizens who deal with these questions in concrete terms.

Jan-Friedrich Witt has been a lawyer in Bargteheide since 2018 and works in the areas of tenancy, labour, traffic and inheritance law, among other things. As a notary representative since 2019, he has regularly dealt with the topic of power of attorney and living wills.

“Power of Attorney and Patient Decree” will take place on May 4th, 2023, 6 p.m. in the aid center, Alter Sportplatz 8, 22941 Bargteheide. Participation is free after confirmed registration, donations are welcome. The number of seats is limited.
