Leaked the latest iPhone 13, can be turned into a ‘Powerbank’ for other cellphones

AKURAT.CO, Rumors about Apple’s next-generation line of devices seem to never end. The latest about the iPhone 13 phone which is rumored to be launched in September this year. Several new rumors are circulating about the iPhone 13 one of which was recently mentioned that the device will feature reverse wireless charging.

Reporting from Ubergizmo, Monday (5/7), Apple will reportedly integrate a larger wireless charging coil on the iPhone 13. One potential reason for the integration of a larger wireless charging coil is to allow reverse wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging itself is a capability that has been available in the Galaxy smartphone lineup for a while.

Reverse charging allows users to turn their phone into a wireless charging device for other people’s phones. This means that you can use one fully charged device to charge another that is about to turn off without the need for a power outlet or cable.

Larger wireless charging coils can also improve heat management and allow for higher wattage, leading to faster wireless charging. However, the source of the rumors, Max Weinbach, said the reason for the larger charging coil could be because the iPhone will feature stronger MagSafe magnets.

Interestingly, the filings Apple made with the FCC for current-generation iPhones suggest that all iPhone 12 models have the ability to reverse charge other devices wirelessly. However, Apple didn’t actually roll out that feature on the iPhone 13 model line.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that Apple intends to launch reverse wireless charging on the next-generation iPad Pro which is slated to launch in 2022. As for why the current generation iPhone model allegedly has support for reverse wireless charging, and it’s not implemented due to the potential for significant battery drain. The larger battery inside iPad Pro will allow the tablet to run longer while sharing power with Apple Watch or AirPods.
