iPhone 15 Pro Max uses a 5X telephoto lens for the first time. The lens adopts a four-link reflective lens design, but officials usually do not disclose information such as the specifications of the sensor. Recently, a blogger obtained information about the sensor from the code of the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera.
According to the blog, the wide-angle lens and ultra-wide-angle lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max use IMX803 and IMX663 photosensitive elements respectively. The photosensitive element areas are 1/1.3″ and 1/2.55″ respectively, which are the same as the previous generation iPhone 14 Pro Max. As for the 5X telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it uses a 1/3.1″ IMX 913 sensor, which is an upgrade compared to the 1/3.4″ IMX713 sensor of the previous generation 3X telephoto lens.
Although the leaked information of iPhone 15 Pro Max indicates that the wide-angle lens and ultra-wide-angle lens hardware have not been improved. However, Apple officials also stated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max chip uses a new ISP (image processor), the algorithm has also been enhanced, and the wide-angle lens shooting interface has more 24mm, 28mm and 35mm lens options. Moreover, the iPhone 15 Pro Max also has more automatic portrait modes and more advanced smart HDR5 shooting (the previous generation was HDR4) than the previous generation. It can be seen that this machine has been upgraded in terms of shooting.
