From Software appears to be on the cusp of announcing the return of the Armored Core series with a new game made by Dark Souls and Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Images that would be of this Armored Core 6 were apparently leaked by a person who would have participated in an opinion poll conducted by From Software.
The game would be the first in the mech series since 2012’s Armored Core V. It is described in the survey with features such as a “sci-fi world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki”, “dynamic three-dimensional action” and a “high degree of freedom in customization”. ”.
“The game is a TPS (third-person shooter) mecha action title that lets you move around an overwhelming-scale map that represents a unique sci-fi world with dynamic mechanical action,” the research states. “You will face strong enemies and fierce long and short range battles using weapons and blades.”
The game’s synopsis supposedly shows the government, corporations, cultists, and unknown mercenaries fighting over a strange substance that could “dramatically advance human society.”
The user, who said he didn’t share footage from the game initially because of the massive watermark, also claimed the search included a short video.
“The boss fight felt quite ‘soulsy’ – the long-range gunfight reminded me of Virtua On. That’s my frame of reference, I’m not a mech fan and haven’t played any AC games. The player character in a white mech approached the boss of the larger robot and fought like an energy sword or laser, this looked Souls-style,” the research participant explained.
“In the field game, the player on the same white mech appeared to be following some other players from a distance (co-op?). And they were walking (flying close to the ground maybe) through a snowy area towards either a big wall or gate, that looked ‘soulsy’ too, the vastness of the architecture but it was no longer a castle like a metal wall or gate /worn stone. It was too short.”
