Leaked Huawei P50 Pocket Foldable Phone, Released at the End of the Month

Suara.com – Huawei will announce folding phone just the end of this month called Huawei P50 Pocket.

This was revealed through a post on the company’s official Weibo account.

Unlike the previous Mate X foldable device, which folds from a tablet-sized device into a smartphone, the P50 Pocket has a clamshell design that folds up to the size of a smartphone.

The design is more similar to the Samsung Z Flip or Motorola Razr devices.

The Huawei P50 Pocket has a dual ring camera protrusion similar to the Huawei P50, but the bottom ring has been reused to function as a small external display.

It appears to be able to display notifications or function as a camera viewfinder.

Engadget China note that the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

The P50 Pocket is not the first folding phone produced by Huawei, previously the Mate X, Mate XS, and Mate X2.

However, all three use a folding form factor that some compare to hotdog buns.
In contrast, the new P50 Pocket looks to what it calls a hamburger-style design.

Huawei’s post only mentions the Chinese launch and it’s unclear if or when the P50 Pocket will be released globally.

Huawei has not offered its latest flagship smartphone, the P50, outside of China after its launch in July and the company is still subject to US sanctions.
