Manuel Neuer is not happy with Bayern Munich. The goalkeeper has been talking to the club about his future for a while and is disappointed that stories about the negotiations regularly appear in the media.
Recently, German media reported that 34-year-old Neuer, whose contract expires after ten years in Bayern next summer, would demand an extension of five seasons and an annual salary of no less than 20 million euros.
“It is a utopia to oblige the club to a five-year contract. At the age of 34, I cannot know at all how I am at the age of 39,” Neuer said in an interview with Bild.
“All conversations here are always very confidential. Now suddenly there are details of conversations that often turn out to be incorrect. That irritates me. I don’t know Bayern like that.”
The 92-time international of Germany will face stiff competition at Bayern next season, because in January the club already announced that 23-year-old Alexander Nübel will come over from Schalke 04 after this season. At that time, reports appeared in German media that Neuer would not be happy with the arrival of the keeper who is seen as his successor.
