Although this announcement has not yet been officially confirmed, Kayvon Beykpour, the lead product developer of Twitter, retweeted the tweet from Paluzzi and added a soon emoji (“soon”).
Twitter boss Jack Dorsey had already indicated in the past that Bitcoin payments could be integrated on the platform in the future.
MacRumours reported again that the Bitcoin payments may be processed via the payment service Strike, which is part of the Lightning Network. Paluzzi now countered, however, that it “does not need a strike account” to select Bitcoin addresses.
