Leah Remini Files Lawsuit Against Church of Scientology and David Miscavige

Leah Remini has filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and current leader David Miscavige. The actress says on X, as Twitter is now called, that she has been intimidated by the church for years.

53-year-old Remini writes down Substack that she is being harassed and stalked. “I believe I am not the first person to be targeted by Scientology and its activities, but I hope to be the last.”

“For seventeen years, Scientology and David Miscavige subjected me to what I consider to be psychological torture, slander, surveillance, harassment and intimidation that seriously impacted my life and career,” she writes.

With the lawsuit, the actress and author wants to end what she sees as “mafia-type operations” and attacks against her and other alleged victims of the Church of Scientology. She also wants the church to stop intimidating anyone the church considers an “enemy”. Remini also demands compensation for the damage that Scientology would have caused her and her career.

Remini was a member of the Church of Scientology for most of her life, until she left the Church in 2013. She later made the documentary series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. It was awarded an Emmy in 2017.
