League of Nations volleyball players: Interesting decisions continued

Thursday’s volleyball players ended the first part of the competition in the League of Nations. After two rounds, the Russian national team was one of the five undefeated teams in the tournament. Everything changed after the third game, in which the players of Sborna had to recognize the superiority of the Dutch. The leader of Grupa Azoty Chemika Police Indy Baijens and the captain of the Netherlands team, Anne Buijs (16 and 15 points respectively) led to the victory 3: 1. On the other side of the net, the first violin was played by substitutes Arina Fedorowsjewa and Ksenija Smimowa (18 points each). Interestingly, the entire basic squad of the Russians, presented by coach Sergio Busato, was on the bench after … the first set.

The match between the Americans and the Brazilians was also quite surprising. This time, not playing in the strongest ranking, the US representatives in the first two sets quite confidently defeated Canarinhos with Gabi and Tandara in the lead. The charges of Ze Roberto managed to win another third installment, but the Americans, led by Karch Kiraly, put a stop to the game. Sarah Wilhite (25 points), supported by the more famous Jordan Larson and Andrea Drews (16 points each), led them to the win. The best scorer on the Brazilian side of the field was Fernanda Rodrigues (18 points).

Now all volleyball players are waiting for a few days break in the competition, and volleyball players are entering the competition. The women’s teams will not return to the game until Monday, and the rivals of the Polish team in this round of matches will be Koreans, Belgians and Dominicans.
