The Slovak national football team won 1-0 on the field of Azerbaijan in the third match in the 3rd group of the C-division of the League of Nations. The only goal of Friday’s match was scored by Vladimír Weiss Jr. in the 81st minute.

Vladimír Weiss Jr., midfielder of the Slovak Republic, scorer of the winning goal: “We knew it wouldn’t be an easy match, and that was confirmed. We believed we would score a goal, and I’m glad it happened. I didn’t even know I had been waiting for a national team goal for up to five years.
I missed the national team for a while, but now I’m glad I fell for it and that we won. We know we are the group’s favorite, and I’m sorry we recently lost the head coach. However, we have shown the strength of the team and today’s victory is for him too. ”
Lukáš Haraslín, midfielder of the Slovak Republic: “First of all, I’m glad that after the unsuccessful match with Kazakhstan, we quickly regenerated and won today’s match. I thought that after the match with Kazakhstan, I would like it today, but as I see it, I’m still unlucky.”
