CONAKRY- The Sangarédi Minors Sports Association wins the first edition of the 2023 League Cup organized by the Guinean Professional Football League in its first edition. The Sangarédi mining club, promoted to the top flight and which has managed to stay in Ligue 1 this season, and which eliminated Horoya AC in the semi-finals, offered itself the scalp of SAG de Siguiri (1- 0) this Sunday at the September 28 stadium in Conakry, during the final.
A single goal from Mohamed Bangoura Yorobo in the first period was enough to delight the foals of coach Souleymane Camara Abedy. Thus, Sangarédi becomes the very first team to lift this first edition of the League Cup and leaves in addition to the trophy, with the sum of 100 million Guinean francs (more than 10 thousand dollars). Not a bad amount for President Louis Camara’s club, a team that was still in Ligue 2 last season.
