Still to be disputed in this 1st phase of the League Cup is the clash between Santa Clara and Tondela.
The newly promoted Estrela da Amadora and Moreirense, eliminated by other top-flight teams, and Gil Vicente, Chaves, Famalicão and Boavista, sidelined by teams from the II Liga, are for now the six first-division teams to fall to the ground in the 1st phase of the 2023/24 edition of the League Cup.
Estrela da Amadora was defeated by Portimonense, while Moreirense lost on penalties to Farense, the other team promoted this season to the I Liga. Gil Vicente, on the other hand, was surprised by Oliveirense, while Chaves was defeated by AVS (a team born from the merger between Aves and Vilaverdense) in the penalty shoot-out and Famalicão lost to a Belenenses in a state of grace, in the game that marked the return of the Restelo blues to professional competition games.
Tonight, Boavista fell at home on penalties, against União de Leiria, recently promoted to the Second League.
Still to be played in this 1st phase of the League Cup is the clash between Santa Clara and Tondela (scheduled for the 29th). Even so, most of the matches in the 2nd phase are already known, most of which will be played next weekend.
