Jakarta –
There are a number of complaints about the school that still hold the title face-to-face learning during PPKM level 3 and 4. Students are left out of uniform to take part face-to-face school.
This complaint was received by the volunteer group observing the Corona virus pandemic, LaporCovid-19. LaporCovid-19 revealed that as many as 29 schools held face-to-face learning during July. In fact, dozens of schools are located in the PPKM level 3 and 4.
“From all these reports, we can conclude that the complaint report on the opening of face-to-face schools reached the highest point in July 2021, which was 29 reports. In July this coincided with the PPKM organized by the government,” said Covid-19 Lapor Volunteer Diah Dwi Putri at a press conference virtual broadcast on Youtube, Sunday (1/8/2021).
Diah then detailed that the report came from 12 PPKM level 4 areas and one area that implemented PPKM level 3. In fact, he said the intensity of the reports increased at the end of July because it coincided with the new school year. Here’s the data:
PPKM Level 4:
1. Bogor: 6 reports
2. Sumedang: 1 report
3. Bandung 5 reports
4. Depok: 1 report
5. Banyumas: 1 report
6. Jakarta: 5 reports
7. Bekasi: 2 reports
8. Makassar: 1 report
9. Cimahi: 1 report
10. Bali: 1 report
11. Banten: 1 report
12. Tangerang: 2 reports
PPKM Level 3:
Banjarmasin: 1 report
“In the fourth week (July) there are the most reports because it coincides with the new school year and coincides with PPKM scale 4.3 and other scales. Although there are restrictions, it turns out that there are a lot of schools that implement PTM, while for levels 3 and 4 it should be online,” he said.
Diah then detailed, from 29 complaints, 17 percent of them belonged to the COVID-19 cluster, 52 percent reported violations of the COVID-19 health protocol and the rest were worried about their child’s health after undergoing PTM.
“Then 52 percent of the reports of face-to-face learning that come to us violate the health procedures and 17 of them become clusters of COVID-19 transmission,” he explained.
In this regard, LaporCovid-19 provides a number of recommendations to the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology and local governments. One of them urged the government to open schools after the positivity rate in Indonesia fell to 5 percent.
Another recommendation is to ask local governments to tighten supervision of schools. In fact, it provides strict sanctions against violators of the PPKM provisions.
“The local government is monitoring and supervising school areas, including giving strict sanctions to schools and officials who violate the rules, not just giving warnings without regular monitoring,” he added.
