It is not going well with Peter Bosz’s Bayer Leverkusen. The team has again spilled expensive points, losing 1-2 to SC Freiburg. Ajax opponent Young Boys has suffered a surprising loss of points in the Swiss league in the very last minute.
Olympique Marseille-Olympique Lyon 1-1
The Lyon of Memphis Depay could have come one point behind leader Lille, in a victory in the Olympic clash in Marseille. Karl Toko Ekambi helped the guests to an early lead, but ex-Ajax player Arek Milik used a penalty just before half-time and leveled the score again. Lyon had to continue with ten in the final phase, after a red card for Lucas Paquetá, and eventually had to settle for a point.
The Ligue 1 leading group now consists of four clubs. Lille can fully focus on its domestic obligations after his Europa League elimination and has 59 points after 27 of 38 games. PSG follows on two points, Lyon on three points and Monaco on four points.
AS Roma-AC Milan 1-2
De Rossoneri threatened to get seven points from Internazionale one week after the lost city derby, but have won the difficult away match against AS Roma. The goals were scored just before and just after the break. Franck Kessié ensured a 0-1 halftime score with a penalty used, Jordan Veretout provided the Roman answer after the break, but Ante Rebic crowned himself the match winner with a shot from the turn. The difference between Italy’s numbers one and two remains four points, with fourteen rounds of play to go.

Bayer Leverkusen – SC Freiburg 1-2
At Leverkusen, 22-year-old Lennart Grill was under the bar. Bosz victimized Niklas Lomb, who didn’t look good against Young Boys. Grill could not prevent Freiburg from taking the lead in the BayArena, however. Ermedin Demirovic gave the visitors the lead in the fiftieth minute. More than ten minutes later, the problems became even worse for Leverkusen: Lucas Höler tapped the ball in from close range after a good cross.
In the seventieth minute, Leverkusen did come back into the game, after Leon Bailey shot the ball into the goal within sixteen meters. Leverkusen, however, failed, despite the many possibilities, to come alongside. Because of the defeat, Bosz drops with his team to sixth place. At the end of the season, this position only entitles the player to European football if the cup winner already ensures this through their own league.
FC Luzern – Young Boys 2-2
Young Boys had a difficult afternoon on a visit to low-flyer Lucerne. Ajax’s opponent in the eighth final of the Europa League missed a number of good opportunities in the first half. At half time, Young Boys faced a 1-0 deficit, after a hit by former FC Emmen player Filip Ugrinic.
In the 71st minute, Young Boys made the liberating equalizer via Christian Fassnacht. In the final phase a real spectacle took place: in the 87th minute Young Boys took the lead, after Lucerne’s own goal. However, the team of trainer Gerardo Seoane gave away the victory at the very last moment: Marvin Schulz made the 2-2 deep in injury time.
Inter 3-0 Genoa
Inter got off the starting blocks against Genoa. After just 33 seconds, Antonio Conte’s team took the lead. Romelu Lukaku pushed the ball nicely into the corner with his chocolate leg. Inter a lot more dangerous than Genoa, which ultimately resulted in the 2-0. In the 69th minute, Lukaku kept the overview by playing Matteo Darmian. The defender shot the ball hard and low into the corner: 2-0. In the 77th minute, substitute Alexis Sanchez scored the 3-0. With the victory, Inter is now seven points apart from pursuer AC Milan, which has played one game less.

Sampdoria – Atalanta 0-2
Visiting Sampdoria, Atalanta had a fairly trouble-free afternoon. The team of trainer Gian Piero Gasperini had the best of the game and reached the greatest possibilities. In the fortieth minute that eventually resulted in a goal. Roeslan Malinovski shot the ball high behind Genoa goalkeeper Emil Audero for the 0-1. In the seventieth minute, half Dutchman Robin Gosens signed for the 0-2 and the decision in the match, by sliding the ball in after a cross from close range. With the win, Atalanta is now in fourth place, which is good for a Champions League ticket. However, number five AS Roma has two points less and one more match credit.
Tottenham – Burnley 4-0
Tottenham came out well against Burnley. Gareth Bale, who seems to have recovered his form The Spurs already in the second minute ahead, after Heung-min Son put the Welshman one on one with the keeper. In the fifteenth minute it was again hit for José Mourinho’s team. Harry Kane was the scorer this time.
After Kane’s goal, Tottenham happily continued. In the 31st minute, Lucas Moura pushed the ball into the far corner and the game seemed decided. However, it didn’t stop there for Tottenham. After the break, Bale showed himself again, by working the ball into the goal within the box. With the win, Tottenham climbs to eighth place in the Premier League.
