Leadership of Armed Group Threatens to Shoot Susi Air Pilot

Jakarta

Armed criminal group (KKB) leadership Egianus Kogoya made a threat to shoot pilot Susi Air, Philip Mark Mehrtens. The threat from the separatist terrorist group was answered by the Head of the Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Mathius Fahiri.

The original Papuan police general reminded the KKB to refrain from shooting the pilot of the Susi Air plane, who is a New Zealand citizen (WN). He said the act of violence against Philip Mark Mehrtens would have far-reaching repercussions.

“We hope Egianus will not carry out his threat, namely shooting the Susi Air pilot on July 1,” he said Fakhirilaunched BetweenThursday (29/6/2023).

The threat to shoot the Susi Air pilot circulated on social media stating that the KKB led by Egianus would shoot Philip who was taken hostage shortly after landing his plane in Paro, Nduga Regency.

He said he was ready to fulfill the KKB’s request by handing over the money as long as it was pilot Susi Air released. However, he rejected the KKB’s request for ‘independence’ and ‘weapons’.

“It is impossible for us to grant both requests, however the money requested will be prepared and handed over to Egianus Kogoya provided that the New Zealand hostage is released and handed over to the security forces,” said Faakhiri.

He explained that currently negotiations are still being carried out involving various parties, including the Egianus Kogoya family.

Through negotiations involving the family, it is hoped that Egianus Kogoya will hand over Philip Mark Mehrtens, who has been held hostage since February 7. He also hopes that the involvement of the Egianus Kogoya family can help convince the KKB leadership not to execute pilot Susi Air, who has been in captivity for more than 4 months.
