Leaders from 24 countries will attend the BRICS summit –

A total of leaders from 24 countries have confirmed their attendance at the group’s summit BRICSwhich integrates, among others, China, India y Russiain the Russian city of Boilerwhich will be held between October 22 and 24, the Kremlin reported today.

According to the presidential advisor Yuri Ushakovrepresentatives from 32 countries from Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East will participate in the event.

“Of them, 24 countries have confirmed the participation of their leaders in the Kazan summit,” said Ushakov, quoted by the TASS agency.

The other eight countries will be represented at a high level, he added.

Ushakov noted that Russia, as host of the summit, has invited its neighbors in the Commonwealth of Independent States and “everyone has confirmed their attendance.”

The attendance of the UN Secretaries General is also expected, the Shanghai Cooperation Organizationthe Eurasian Economic Commission and other regional groups.

According to the Kremlin, “the magnitude of high-level geographical representation” at the Kazan summit shows the role of the BRICS in today’s world and the interest of countries in joining the group.

The Russian president, Vladimir Putinsaid two weeks ago that the contribution to the world economy of the BRICS group has already surpassed that of the G7 and continues to grow.

The BRICS are now made up of eleven countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Argentina, Egypt and Ethiopia) and another 30 have shown interest in associating with the group. EFE (I)
