Central people in the Labor Party (Ap) want Raymond Johansen in the government. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is planning replacements and reshuffles among APS ministers on Monday. Among other things, Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt will probably leave the government and Tonje Brenna will probably become the new Minister of Labour. Several people want Johansen as the new foreign minister, but that regardless of his ministerial position he will enter the government. Show more
– It will be a strength to get Raymond Johansen into the government. He will be able to hold any ministerial position, says leader Frode Jacobsen of Oslo Labor Party to VG.
Both Jacobsen and other Labor Party members have learned that there are plans for replacements and reshuffles among the Labor Party’s ministers on Monday.
Jonas Gahr Støre is said to have already decided that Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt from Jessheim will leave – and will probably be replaced by Climate Minister Espen Barth Eide from Oslo. Barth Eide shortens his planned trip to Luxembourg, and will return home on Monday morning, the Ministry of Climate and Environment confirms to The daily newspaper. It is also known that Ap deputy leader Tonje Brenna from Jessheim will most likely change ministries – and take over the Ministry of Labor after Marte Mjøs Persen from Bergen. On Friday, VG could report that outgoing Stavanger mayor Kari Nessa Nordtun and outgoing Lillehammer mayor Ingunn Trosholmen are both highly relevant for government posts. NRK reports on Saturday that Nordtun will enter.AT THE PARTY OFFICE: Raymond Johansen and leader of Oslo Ap, Frode Jacobsen photographed during the last election campaign at the Ap office on Youngstorget. TV 2 reported earlier on Saturday about a rebellion in Oslo Ap after Raymond Johansen does not appear to be intended for a place in the government. Now more people are signing up.
Several central people in Oslo Ap more than suggest that the party, which is struggling with support, now has a rare chance to strengthen the government team with Raymond Johansen.
Frode Jacobsen, who sits on the Oslo bench in the Storting, is not afraid of too much Oslo dominance if Raymond gets a place in the government.
– Now we have a chance to strengthen the team. Raymond will be a powerful reinforcement, says Jacobsen to VG.

– Isn’t it unusual for the leader of the largest county team to get involved in the Prime Minister’s “team selection”?
– We always have input when new governments are formed and the composition of the government, replies Jacobsen.
But he does not want to share with VG’s readers whether he has had contact with member of Oslo Ap, Jonas Gahr Støre and recorded Raymond Johansen.
In any case, Johansen’s name is recorded by more and more people in the party.
– Of course I want Raymond Johansen in the government. He is one of the most skilled politicians we have in this country, says Jon Reidar Øyan in Oslo Ap to VG.
He leads the Gay network in the party, and points out that Raymond is a skilled political strategist, and has formidable implementation skills.

Information for VG: Planning for a change of cabinet on Monday
On Monday, the Støre government is planning an extraordinary cabinet meeting at the Palace.
Labor politician in Oslo and leader of the Association of Prison Officials in Oslo, Faruk Kureshi, believes Støre should do as Ståle Solbakken – and use the best players in the national team.
– Raymond is needed in the government. He has been an outstanding city council leader with solid leadership and a down-to-earth demeanor, says Kureshi, who recalls that Johansen led the capital steadily through the demanding pandemic years. In addition, he was party secretary in Ap during and after the tragic massacre on Utøya.

– Raymond is good at talking to people – and takes everyone he talks to seriously, Kureshi describes.
A central source in the Oslo Party believes that Johansen surpasses Barth Eide as a political resource for the party “with the two-way”. The Labor Party politician in Oslo believes that party leader and Prime Minister Støre now has a unique opportunity to give Johansen a place in government.

Raymond Johansen himself is staying at home in Oslo this weekend – with relatives visiting from northern Norway.
– I will refrain from commenting, writes Raymond Johansen in a text message to VG when asked what he thinks about the fact that more people in the Capital Party want him in government.

For the former LO champion and Trade and Office manager Sture Arntzen (75), there is no doubt that Raymond Johansen should be the new minister.
– He is a rock solid politician and should be hyper current to join the government now when changes are to come, says Sture Arntzen to TV 2.

Arntzen says to VG that Raymond Johansen is one of the best and most popular politicians the country has.
– It looks as if Espen Barth Eide is set to become the new foreign minister. I think Raymond with his experience as a former state secretary and with special knowledge of the Middle East – is a better option. But the main point is to use the opportunity to find a place for Johansen in the government, insists Arntzen.
Enter the Støre team anyway
– Johansen is 62 years old. He’s not too old?
– 62 years is no age. He still has a lot to give. And he has not had the chance to try out as a minister in a government before, replies the Labor veteran and the former LO champion.
In the Ap teams in Groruddalen and Søndre Nordstrand in Oslo – Raymond Johansen also enjoys great popularity.
Manager Usman Asif in Bjerke Ap believes Raymond Johansen understands the major changes in society – both nationally and internationally. He prefers Johansen as the new foreign minister. But regardless: He should join the Støre government. Now the timing is right, says Asif.
Teacher and Ap politician in Søndre Nordstrand district, Hanan Abdelrahman says:
– Raymond is a good man. He talks to young people, he takes responsibility, he plays in teams with people, says Abdelrahman.
