The leader of “Vazrazhdane” Kostadin Kostadinov announced that there should still be a referendum against the introduction of the euro. According to him, the deputies did not understand exactly what they were voting for and actually gave the green light to the poll without realizing it.
The legal commission’s draft decision rejects the referendum. During the voting in the hall, this decision was rejected by the majority, explains Kostadinov. The PP-DB is of the opposite opinion – they believe that there is no problem with voting and the will of the parliament against the referendum is clear.
In his post on social networks, the chairman of “Vazrazhdane” Kostadin Kostadinov shows a photo of the draft decision regarding the holding of the referendum, rejecting its holding. Kostadin Kostadinov claims that this draft decision was rejected by PP-DB, GERb-SDS and DPS and according to him this means that there will be a referendum.
Kostadinov accuses the PP-DB lawyers of not being able to prepare a decision like people. He believes that it lacked motives, which, in itself, makes it null and void.
The chairman of “Vazrazhdane” expresses hope that now that the final decision is in the hands of the president, he will comply with the decision of the National Assembly to schedule a referendum.
Yesterday, before the vote in the plenary hall, the chairperson of the parliament, Rositsa Kirova, gave instructions agreed with the chairman of the 49th National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov.

“Let me explain to everyone – we are voting on the proposal of “Vazrazhdane”, the organizers of the referendum, which is not supported by a commission. That is, those who vote “for” will vote for holding the referendum, those who vote “against” will be against holding the referendum,” she said.
A vote followed, and then a re-vote requested by “Vazrazhdane”. The result showed both times that the proposal was not accepted.
Today on the air of BNT, Atnoaneta Tsoneva from PP-DB commented that there is no problem with voting and the will of the parliament for a referendum is clear. “The arguments that were presented both in the legal committee and yesterday in the parliament, the way the voting took place, regardless of the fact that this is a decision, a draft decision was not read. There is no problem in terms of expressing the will of the National Assembly, what does it think about this topic and from now on it will happen. Because we know the intentions of those who support holding a referendum – the Constitutional Court will look into this matter,” she said.
Whether the Constitutional Court will be appealed and by whom remains to be seen. “Revival” does not reach the necessary 48 votes for the goal and must seek support from other political forces in the National Assembly.
