sport">“This is real Scheveningen weather. That was delicious. The conditions are really nice. We’re all going super hard. It’s spectacular. But it is tricky. The wind is still turning. You have to keep your head up. I was able to do that twice. Once I made a mistake, but I managed to get away reasonably well. I saw the wind, but couldn’t reach it. But I had a smooth day like that.”

sport">He was especially pleased with his starts. “My starts were great. I often came up first or second and then it was time to set sail and see what happened. It worked.”

sport">Although Badloe is in the lead, he expects exciting days ahead. “We will all be close to each other. My Italian competitor has left it a bit and the Swiss completely. But some other guys have joined. Tomorrow will make a big difference before we enter the medal race. But this was a really good day.”
