Iran’s leader says that by killing Haniya, the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime of Israel has paved the way for harsh punishment.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, issued a message on Wednesday regarding the martyrdom of the head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), Ismail Haniya, in a terrorist attack against his residence in Tehran, the Iranian capital.
Ayatollah Khamenei has hailed martyr Haniya as a “brave and prominent” Palestinian leader, whose martyrdom has put the vast Resistance front in mourning. “The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our home and it saddened us, but it also prepared for itself a harsh punishment.”the Leader stated.
“The martyr Haniya dedicated his precious life for many years to the field of honorable struggle and was ready for martyrdom, thus, he sacrificed his children and his people. He was not afraid to become a martyr in the path of God and save the servants of God, But we consider it our duty to avenge their blood in this bitter and difficult incident that occurred on the territory of the Islamic Republic.“, the Leader stressed.
He also offered his condolences to the Islamic Ummah (community), to the Resistance front, to the brave and proud nation of Palestine and, especially, to the family and survivors of the martyr Haniya and one of his companions who was martyred alongside him.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported on Wednesday morning that the Hamas leader and one of his bodyguards were martyred in an attack on his residence in Tehran, the Iranian capital.
He also expressed his condolences to the heroic people of Palestine, the Islamic nation and the fighters of the Resistance front, as well as to the noble Iranian nation, for this tragedy.
He said the causes and extent of the incident were being investigated and the results would be announced at a later date.
Haniya arrived in Tehran to take part in the inauguration of new Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian on Tuesday.
