Emil Pagliarulo, lead designer and writer for Starfield, spoke about one of the game’s missions, which he says “players can’t wait for.” The mission was co-created with Eric Baudouin, who worked on Starfield as a senior designer until his death last October.
Pagliarulo, in his posts on X, says that when he thought about developing Starfield, he thought of Baudouin. The lead designer recalls his work on the mission, which he describes as a “great collaboration” between himself and Baudouin. “We changed each other,” he writes, “and God, we had fun doing it.”
Pagliarulo also describes Baudouin’s presence as a driving force on the Starfield development team. “He had the kind of optimism that makes you remember how great it is to be a game designer. Before covid, when we were all together, I could always recognize the sound of his sandals as he walked up to my office” and that his “creative and often whimsical mind was exactly what our games need.”
We don’t yet know which quest Pagliarulo was referring to, but after the release of Starfield, the lead designer will reveal the name of this “quest” so that everyone can see in detail how much Baudouin could bring to Starfield.
