The annual Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing on Thursday and Friday, where Chinese leaders set priorities for economic work in 2023.
In a speech at the annual conference, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, president of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, reviewed the country’s economic work in 2022, analyzed the current economic situation, and organized the cheap work for next year.
Li Keqiang, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Han Zheng, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li Xi did not attend the conference.
During the meeting, it was noted that an overall recovery and improvement in the country’s economic performance is expected for the coming year, and that firm confidence is needed to do a good job in the economic field.
The meeting called for making economic stability a top priority and pursuing steady progress while ensuring economic stability for the coming year.
Proactive fiscal policy and prudent monetary policy will continue to be implemented next year. Meanwhile, efforts will be made to intensify macro-control and coordinate various policies, so as to form synergies for high-quality development, according to the meeting.
