After the premiere of the Latvian National Theater, the magazine “Privātā Dzīve” reported that the lead actor Egons Dombrovskis had caught the flu on the day of the performance and had been sleeping near the system for a couple of hours before the performance. After the show, he still took part in the banquet.
On February 1, the premiere of the Latvian National Theater play “Peter Pan. Syndrome” took place, in which Egon played on stage while still ill with the flu. On the “X” website, this statement caused a heated debate, to which the theater argued that an actor on stage has little chance of touching the audience.
It turns out that, instead of Dombrovsky, the director of the show, Dmitry Krimov, would have performed the play himself, speaking the text in Russian.
The intrigue was caused by the Latvian National Theater’s announcement to the audience about the canceled dress rehearsal, published the previous day, which caused the most varied guesses as to what happened.
In the end, it turned out that the audience was prevented from attending the dress rehearsal because Egon Dombrovskis, the actor of the main character Peter Pan, had suddenly encountered health problems, who admitted to the magazine “Kas Jauns”: “Unfortunately, on the day of the dress rehearsal, I was unable to go to the theater, let alone play. I had a temperature of 40 degrees!”
