A brigade made up of the Head of the Center for the Conservation and Development of Forest Resources of Béni Mellal and the Head of the Wildlife Surveillance and Control Unit, on Wednesday in the province of Fqih Ben Saleh, failed an attempt to traffic of 720 goldfinches, carefully concealed in cage trays aboard a fruit and vegetable transport van.
Carried out in coordination with the competent judicial authorities and the prefectural police of Béni Mellal, this operation, which resulted in the seizure of 720 goldfinches, is part of the fight against poaching and illegal trade in species of flora and wild fauna in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 29-05 relating to the protection of species of wild flora and fauna and the control of their trade.
At the end of this operation, the goldfinches seized by the brigade were released into the wild and the intercepted van impounded, while the people involved in this case were subjected to the procedures of the investigation according to the laws in force. .
